Peperoni Pizza
I love thin crust pizza and one of the best places for it is at Peperoni Pizza. Located at greenwood ( near Bukit Timah, behind Singtel Academy), it’s actually together with L’estaminet Bar. The Bar takes care of the drinks, and Peperoni the food. The dress code is casual and ambience friendly.
It’s a warm cosy place, with friendly staff and many families can be found chowing down on the food.
The best seats in the house are outdoors, situated behind the kitchen. It has a nice Italian décor, and the TV is there, so you can catch up on soccer if you need to. Make sure to visit the toilet for some jokes pasted on the walls. I found the air conditioning too cold indoors though.
We had the tomato soup for starters, together with garlic bread. My son loved that. If you have the appetite, try the fried Portobello mushroom, which is a huge mushroom deep fried in batter and then cover with mushroom sauce together with some meat. Lovely.
The main course was the thin crust pizza. We like the suprema with the chicken sausages. You can ask them to omit the chilli flakes if you do not like it spicy.
There is a wood fire oven in front, where the chefs prepare the pizza. My son loves to look at them prepare the pizzas. And the chefs are really friendly, and even invited us to inside the pizza kitchen.
Make sure you make a reservation on the weekends, as it gets really crowded. They accept takeaway orders but no deliveries.

Botak Jones
Want American Food at food court prices ? You got to try Botak Jones. He's at 2 locations, in tuas and Ang Mo Kio, both at coffee shops.
I tried the one at Ang Mo Kio. Situated in a slightly out of the way location, there was still a good crowd at lunchtime. The food is typically american : burgers, steaks, chillis. But good value and good tasting.

The Botak Burger at $5.50 for a set meal is really good, comes with spicy fries and colesaw to complete the meal.

We also had the whoopass cheese fries but it was too filling.
If you are into "traditional" singaporean western food, there is fish & chips, lamb chops, steaks, which looks good too. I didn't taste them, but other tables ordered.

If you like hot dogs, there are some really yummy ones !

For the really hungry, (or the ones with the black hole stomachs), you can try the U-CRAZY-WHAT?! burger

And in case you can still fit in some food, try the cakes for dessert.
Don't forgot to pick up the menus like various languages. The English ones have some interesting and corny jokes.
Final Rating (out of 5) :
Price : $ [ Good and Cheap ]
Food : **** [ excellent and hearty good. Not for the dieting ]
Ambience : none [ what you expect, coffee shop lah ! ]
service : **** [ good friendly staff ]
Overall : ****
Excellent ! worth repeated visits.
